Tudósok, írók találkozóhelye volt a különleges freskókkal díszített kastély 250 évvel ezelőtt. A napjainkban látható épület elődjét, amely egy kisebb méretű kúria volt, a régi református középnemes családból származó Ráday Pál építtette, fia, Gedeon barokk kastéllyá bővíttette és kulturális központtá tette a péceli családi rezidenciát.
