Heat-resistant glass for domestic use was produced in Jena for the first time in around 1920. By developing the borosilicate glass, Otto Schott created a universal material which, after laboratories and the industry, quickly conquered households as well.

The company was partner of SCHOTT Jenaer Glas GmbH since 1996 concerning the production of heat resistant glassware. As the production of household glassware was stopped by the German company in 2005, Csonka és Fiai Ltd. took over the production of these products under an other new brand, named Trendglas, becoming this way one of the biggest manufacturer of heat resistant glass in Europe. By founding Trendglas Jena GmbH in 2006, the company became an international establishment.
The Trendglas Jena GmbH belongs to the Csonka Group, based in Sopron, Hungary, one of the biggest and most efficient manufacturers of heat-resistant glass in europe. Csonkaglas was a co-producer of Jenaer Glaswerk for more than 12 years. Completion of Trendglas products also takes place here.

It is exported to five continent 52 countries under the brand names “trendglas” and „trendglas Jena“ and, from our warehouses situated in Sopron (Hungary), and Jena (Germany). Only in Germany, these products are offered by more than 700 specialist retailer.

Our glass products

- are heat resistant (up to 450°C/842°F), suitable for use in microwave, microwave grill, dishwasher and stove
- are suitable for healthy and safe food preparation
- are easy to clean and hygienic in use through the pore-free surface
- offer a variety of application possibilities: baking and cooking, preparing and serving, cooling and freezing (down to -35°C/-31°F)
- show a high resistance to sudden temperature changes with a temperature difference of 140°C/284°F (three times as high as normal glass or lead crystal glass)
- are manufactured from clear borosilicate glass which is free of smell and flavor, does not discolor and shows high chemical and mechanical resistance
- do not give off any substances and are therefore suitable for allergy sufferers
- come in superior and functional product design for an optimal preparation of beverages and meals
- plain aesthetics, wide variety
- are most suitable as an individual and creative gift idea.

Among our references can be mentioned the bigest tea commerciants (D&B, Mount Everest, …), the German TeeGschwendner network, and other foreign luxurious hotels are using Trendglas Jena products.
The SOLO/GLOBE teapot family obtained the „Teapot of the year„ (2009.) titel from the German TeeGschwendner network, and is entitled to use the title of "Hungarian Handcraft Prime".
Has to be emphasized the luxurious hotel Armani, situated in the worlds (presently) highest building Burj Khalifa, where also Trendglas Jena products are used for serving exclusive tea specialities.
